This plan of the proposed road system for Hobart is noted to have been copied from surveyor James Meehan's plan of Hobart, "made by order of His Excellency Governor Macquarie". It shows the intended alignment of streets and houses, incorporating or working around a number of existing homes and narrow streets. Of interest is the location of the hospital on the current site of the Royal Hobart Hospital.
