Originally published by Captain Hurd, Hydrographer to the Admiralty, on 4 February 1814, this Chart of Van Diemens Land uses compiled hydrographic survey information attributed to Admiral D'Entrecasteaux and Captains Cook, Furneaux, J H Cox and Baudin. A small inset plan of Sullivans Cove attributed to Mr I Welsh shows the position of Government House, the signal post at Battery Point and a hospital. Depth sounding notations around the coast would suggest the chart's usefulness for navigation purposes.

Reproductions are inkjet printed on high quality paper using colour-fast UV tolerant inks. These plans and charts are suitable for laminating or framing.
