Year: circa 1840
Print Size: 62cm x 51cm

Bounded by Liverpool, Elizabeth, Collins and Murray Streets, this plan affords us the opportunity of seeing what we refer to now as the CBD district of Hobart, circa 1850. The plan depicts the parcels of land granted up to circa 1840, with the positions of buildings being shown. As James Sprent was the Surveyor General of the time, there is 'an assumption' that the graphic references to prominent buildings could be fairly indicative of their true position. With the recent devastating fire at Myer, in the area shown as granted to George Carr Clark and George Edwin Jonathon Clark, this particular plan would be a popular edition to any collection. Note the portrayal of the Hobart Rivulet, which a number of locals and visitors may not even be aware of.

Reproductions are inkjet printed on high quality paper using colour-fast UV tolerant inks. These plans and charts are suitable for laminating or framing.
