Wynyard W44 - Historical Chart
Year: circa 1857
Print Size: 93cm x 60cm
Certified as a 'true and correct delineation' of survey of the township of Wynyard in September 1857, this early plan shows the subdivision of perfectly delineated parcels of land west of the Inglis River. The area marked 'E' Public Reserve on the banks of the river is the current site of the Wynyard Showground, with the reserved area (coloured green) in the centre of the plan now part of the Wynyard High School site. Interestingly, the current township of Wynyard doesn't extend far beyond this plan from 1857.
